Job summary:

We’re looking for an experienced Environments and Release Manager to take ownership of NHBC’s development, test, staging and production environments and lead our end-to-end release management process. You’ll play a key role in ensuring changes are delivered into live operation in a controlled, secure and repeatable way, while driving improvements to deployment automation, CI/CD and overall service stability. Working across platforms including Salesforce and Oracle, you’ll collaborate closely with DevOps, development and delivery teams to support the safe delivery of strategic change and help shape our environment and release management approach as the function continues to grow.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and manage NHBC’s development, test, staging and production environments across a complex application estate, including Salesforce and Oracle.
  • Lead the end-to-end release management process, ensuring releases are planned, controlled and delivered safely and effectively.
  • Develop and continuously improve release management standards, processes and ways of working.
  • Manage the release calendar, dependencies, conflicts and risks to protect service stability and operational resilience.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to increase the speed, quality and repeatability of deployments.
  • Work closely with DevOps and development teams on deployment, environment provisioning and automation.
  • Chair release readiness and go/no-go reviews and ensure appropriate change, release and incident management processes are followed.
  • Provide technical guidance, clear progress updates and effective stakeholder communication across delivery teams.
  • As the team grows, take on line management responsibilities including coaching, mentoring and performance development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong, current experience in release and environment management across complex, multi-platform application estates.
  • Hands-on experience managing Salesforce releases, including metadata, sandboxes, environment promotion and Salesforce release tooling.
  • Experience working with Oracle and web-based technologies within development, test, staging and production environments.
  • Strong experience with Git, GitHub and GitHub Actions, including designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience of configuration management, deployment control and environment promotion.
  • Good understanding of change, release and incident management, ideally within an ITIL-aligned environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and an understanding of release risk and service stability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical and delivery teams.
  • A natural leader who can motivate others, build strong relationships and bring enthusiasm for technology and continuous improvement.
  • ITIL or relevant project management certification would be desirable.

Our benefits package includes:
