Job summary:

Are you passionate about building engineering and eager to make a meaningful impact in the construction industry? NHBC is seeking motivated professionals to manage and support Peer Group 1-3 builders, ensuring high standards in building quality, safety, and compliance.

 

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for managing and supporting a range of builders and consulting groups to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, and warranty requirements. Provide technical advice, negotiate proposals, support inspections, handle claims, and promote business objectives while maintaining safety and customer relations.

Lead investigations and manage claims projects from brief through remedial solutions, cost assessment, and site inspections, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

 

Extending to:

  • Manage your own workload and tasks to meet service level agreements (SLAs) with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Provide expert technical advice on design compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, and warranty requirements, helping resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with developers, builders, and professional advisors to ensure proposals meet all regulatory, warranty, and land quality standards.
  • Support inspection teams by advising on high-risk and complex building elements and overseeing warranty aspects.
  • Lead investigations on claims projects, developing remedial solutions, managing costs, and conducting site inspections to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Stay up to date with NHBC IT systems and promote adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Deliver engaging technical presentations and contribute to continuous business growth and efficiency initiatives.
  • Build strong, respectful customer relationships by proactively resolving complaints and managing conflicts effectively.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of building/construction industry with knowledge of the housing and commercial sectors.
  • Experience of building/construction industry with knowledge of the housing and commercial sectors.
  • IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work with the minimum of supervision, in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Relevant knowledge and understanding of all aspects of superstructure, foundation and geotechnical design with regard to building structures.
  • Knowledge of environmental issues
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Working towards Chartered status.
