Salary: £43,700 to £65,000 (depending on experience) + 6-10% performance bonus + regional allowance (up to £7,500)

Working location: Homebased

Job summary:

Are you passionate about building engineering and eager to make a meaningful impact in the construction industry? NHBC is seeking motivated professionals to manage and support Peer Group 1-3 builders, ensuring high standards in building quality, safety, and compliance.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

You’ll play a key role in managing technical and regulatory risks across NHBC’s warranty and building control services, ensuring compliance with NHBC Standards, Building Regulations and service level requirements.

  • Manage your own workload and allocated tasks to ensure service levels and quality standards are met.

  • Provide technical advice and support on the assessment of designs for compliance with Building Regulations and warranty standards.

  • Review and resolve engineering-related issues in design submissions.

  • Liaise and negotiate with developers, builders and professional advisors to achieve satisfactory and compliant proposals.

  • Support inspection teams with expert advice on complex or high-risk construction elements.

  • Prepare and review technical reports for builders and professional advisors to ensure accuracy and clarity.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of building/construction industry with knowledge of the housing and commercial sectors.
  • IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work with the minimum of supervision, in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Relevant knowledge and understanding of all aspects of superstructure, foundation and geotechnical design with regard to building structures.
  • Knowledge of environmental issues
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Working towards Chartered status.
