Job role: Projects Actuary

Salary: £85,000 – £110,000 + 10% performance bonus

Working location: Hybrid – 1 to 2 days a month in our Milton Keynes office

Employment type: Full time, Permanent

 

Job summary:

Are you an experienced actuary with a passion for communication and collaboration? At NHBC, we’re raising standards in house building and protecting homeowners – and we need someone like you to help embed actuarial insight across our business. You’ll play a key role in connecting actuarial thinking with wider project work, ensuring our data, risks, and requirements are front and centre in strategic delivery. What you’ll be doing

  • Represent the Actuarial team across key projects, from pricing to climate risk
  • Translate actuarial data needs and insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Drive delivery of actuarial inputs across cross-functional workstreams
  • Collaborate on data transformation and regulatory initiatives
  • Support improvements in actuarial processes and documentation
  • Act as a key voice on climate risk – tracking regulatory developments and driving action

 

What we’re looking for

  • Professionally qualified actuary (FIA/AIA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience in Pricing, Reserving or Actuarial Data Management
  • Comfortable representing actuarial insights in project environments
  • Confident communicator – able to explain technical ideas to all kinds of audiences
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled at building relationships and working across Finance, Underwriting, and IT
  • A proactive mindset, with experience influencing project outcomes
