Job Summary

Are you a skilled bricklayer or groundworker looking to take your experience to the next level? This is your opportunity to join NHBC’s Training team as a Site Brickwork Technician, where you'll support the development of future talent while staying hands-on in the trade you love.

What you’ll be doing

  • Organising and ordering tools, materials, PPE, and consumables to ensure smooth training sessions – all within a set budget.

  • Working closely with the Senior Trainer to support tuition delivery, assist with lesson plans, and help plan the structures that learners will build.

  • Stepping up to independently lead practical training sessions when needed – sharing your real-world experience to guide apprentices through their learning.

  • Building demonstration models and example structures to bring training sessions to life.

  • Updating learner progress through our online portal, making sure records are clear, accurate, and up to standard.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid experience in brickwork and/or groundwork – ideally from the housebuilding sector.

  • A strong background as a practicing tradesperson with a clear understanding of how sites operate.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and how to create a safe learning environment for apprentices.

  • Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings.

  • Someone who can keep accurate learner records and understands what’s expected under ESFA/Ofsted standards.

Education and Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in bricklaying or groundworks

  • First Aid at Work (or willingness to gain this qualification)

  • Full UK driving licence

What we offer

Our benefits package includes:

  • 27 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • holiday purchase scheme
  • enhanced pension scheme (up to 10.5%)
  • life assurance
  • subsidised private medical insurance
  • employee discounts platform
  • two days volunteer leave
  • enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption leave and pay for all new parents

 + many more!
