Salary: Up to Circa £55,000, + up to 10% bonus per annum. In addition, up to £7,500 Regional Allowance depending on location.

Becoming a Registered Building Inspector
We will consider individuals who are in the early stages of working towards RBI application and support you with the necessary requirements to become a Registered Building Inspector (Class 1, 2, 3) with the NHBC.
NHBC have a dedicated professional employee support team for the Building Safety Regulator framework and will provide the funding and training required.
* Please note this opportunity requires a minimum of Class 2A as a Registered Building Inspector, to meet day to day duties. Experienced with independent Plan Checking and Type approval is an advantage.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be an important part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers and surveyors with responsibility for assessing Building Control and warranty applications on a wide variety of residential and mixed-use schemes.
You will be looking at all aspects of Building Control and assess accordance with our service level agreements and operating procedures to ensure that all statutory requirements are met and meet the needs of our customers.
You’ll be based from home but can expect to be out frequently, visiting sites in your geographical area. From time to time you’ll also need to visit our offices, including our head office in Milton Keynes.
Key elements of Building/ Senior Surveyor role are to:
Assess Building Control and warranty applications for residential developments and associated non-residential uses.
Negotiate with developers, builders, and their professional advisors, from initial design to completion, to ensure proposals are satisfactory in relation to regulation and our Standards.
Co-ordinate Building Control inspections, issue of Final Certificates, site and type approvals, and resolving problems relating to Initial Notices/Final certification.
Support our Building Inspectors and Inspection Managers with expert advice, inspection of high-risk/complex elements or features of building work, the identification/communication of key inspection stages, and review of progress.
NHBC have a dedicated professional employee support team for the "Building Safety Regulator Framework". All training, guidance, development and financial funding is provided.
